Dr. Richard Simman, a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, and Diplomat of the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery, has been practicing in the Dayton area for over a decade now. He is also a Research Associate Professor and Associate Clinical Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wright State University. He has convenient offices at Sycamore Hospital and Samaritan North Health Center, and offers services in plastic surgery and wound care.

His background includes training in General Surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, Columbia University in New York, NY and a Plastic Surgery residency at Providence Hospital and Medical Centers in Southfield, MI under the supervision of Dr. Ian T. Jackson, a world famous plastic surgeon. In addition, he completed a Burn Fellowship followed by a Research Fellowship at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

As an active clinician and researcher, his work has been published in numerous major journals including, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Annals of Plastic Surgery, Aesthetics of Plastic Surgery, The Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, Wounds, Academic Emergency Medicine, and others. He is an active member of numerous medical associations. Dr. Simman is currently the editor in chief of the Journal of American College of Clinical Wound Specialists. In addition, Dr. Simman is a past president of the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists (ACCWS).
